We are singing in the rain, just singing in the rain.  What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again!

More Outdoor Ed continues.  We created a Beast and tried working as a team to recreate it using communication, walked through the forest in the rain and listened to the sounds, kissed a banana slug and looked for fungus!  We are staying dry with our raincoats and hand crafted ones!  It's been a continuing adventure!  Freddie has wonderful captured many a moments.  click me! to get an idea!

Thank you and we will see you tomorrow!

And Outdoor Ed continues!

We are moving a lot and having a blast up here! The kids are painting their faces with redwoood bark, moving logs to find centipedes, having peaceful time on solo hikes, figuring out effects of ecosystems, participating in team building activities, tracking and the list goes on and on.  We are so lucky to be up here and learning so much.  All is well with the kids aside from a few scraps.  Hope all is well at home.  We are thinking of you!

Hello parents!!

We all made it safely up here and are loving every minute!  We all went on a discovery hike together after lunch. The kids then had a choice of an elective.  They could choose between archery, canoeing, arts/crafts, and gaga ball (I'm sure they will tell you about that).  We had a great dinner and are now back in our cabins getting ready for the evening portion.  We thank all of you for hanging around and saying the goodbyes.  We hope all is well at home and look forward to seeing you on Friday!

What's Up

This week in sixth grade, we have been preparing for our math test on multiplying and dividing fractions. We finished reading chapter 8 in A Wrinkle in Time. During tech, the girls played code games in Hour of Code. The entire school is beginning to practice for our Christmas program that will be on December 17, next Tuesday. Our class is singing The First Noel. Last week, a elf named Rudy dropped off some pretty decorations for our classroom. We put bow on the windows, snowflakes on he closet doors, tinsel along the board, and a wreath and giant stocking on the outside of our classroom door. Chris taught the whole class how to make circular snowflakes, which we taped up on the closet along with the other glitter covered snowflakes. In Social Studies, we are learning about the Ancient Indians, and how they built the first, bathroom/sewage system.

Entering December

This week in sixth grade we have been working hard. On Tuesday we had a math test with multiplying fractions. During tech time we practiced how to use spreadsheets and how to make graphs with google drive.  We are making examples with lunch counts and seeing how much lunch counts are per day of the week . This spreadsheet is making us more organized and taking advantage of technology. Sixth grade is very excited about the Christmas program! The Christmas program is going to be on the 17th of December at the time  7:00pm. We are going to be singing the traditional song Noel.  We have now entered the season of Advent.  We are having a prayer service with the whole school celebrating this time of year.
